About samas studio
Samas Studio has been recording creators, hosts, and brands since 2022. Three Netflix-approved cameras, broadcast audio, and an in-house team for editing, web, and marketing. We light it right, shoot it right, edit it right, and market it right.
We rent the room by the hour, with a three-camera setup and broadcast audio ready to go. When the recording stops, the same team handles editing, short-form clips, photography, websites, and marketing, so one booking can cover the whole job.
People drive in from all over Metro Detroit to record here. Plenty of them have never recorded anything before, and that is completely fine.
“Why does every podcast set look the same, and why does most of it look bad on camera?”
That question is where Samas Studio started. The founder, Sama Islam, has worked in videography since 2018, and in 2022 he opened the studio in Ferndale around a simple idea: a podcast room should be built for the camera, not just the microphone.
The format was built from scratch. A three-seat layout for one host and two guests, set against a cinematic backdrop. Broadcast lighting is designed for the lens as much as for the room. Three cameras on every conversation, so the edit always has somewhere to go.
Today the same studio handles podcasts, video production, and photography. And because the editing, web, and marketing team works under the same roof, clients stop juggling five vendors and start publishing work they are proud of.

Every camera we own sits on Netflix’s approved camera list, the same list Netflix maintains for its original productions:
Sony's long-running cinema workhorse, built for multi-camera work.
A full-frame 5.9K cinema camera for when a shoot needs the cleanest possible image.
Compact full-frame cinema cameras.
That list matters less for the badge and more for what it means in practice: real cinema sensors, real dynamic range, and footage that holds up when it gets color graded instead of falling apart.
Nobody booking a podcast needs to know any of this. It is simply why the footage looks the way it does.
Tell us the format, how many people, and roughly how long you need.
We lock in your session and talk through what you want to capture.
Step onto a set built for camera, with lighting and audio already in place.
Take your footage, or hand it to our team for a full edit and clips.
We are on Hilton Rd in Ferndale with 15 free parking spaces. No meters, no parking garage, no circling the block with gear in your arms.
| Coming from | Typical drive |
|---|---|
| Madison Heights | 5 minutes |
| Royal Oak | 7 minutes |
| Berkley | 10 minutes |
| Oak Park | 11 minutes |
| Southfield | 12 minutes |

Every one of those is under twenty minutes, which is the whole point. A recording session should not cost you an afternoon of driving.
A recording nobody sees is an expensive hobby. Our creative team works with studio clients on whatever comes next, and none of it is required to book the room.
One booking, one team, one point of contact. That is the whole idea.
